Old 4/4 violin, brown varnish

Full-size (4/4) violin of traditional construction, maker not identified. Spruce top with clearly visible grain, two-piece flamed maple back, ebony pegs and fingerboard, orange-brown varnish. Fitted with a wooden chinrest and a tailpiece with four fine tuners, as on twentieth-century student and orchestra violins. On set it passes for a street musician's, a conservatoire student's or a dance-hall instrument. Suitable for recording, for a musician on set and for set dressing.
