Sanyo DCX 4000 stereo receiver
A Sanyo stereo receiver from the 1970s, the amplifier with built-in radio that sat on the shelf of every living room of the period. AM and FM tuner with the long blue dial and the running needle, tuning meter, bass, treble, balance and volume controls, switch for two pairs of speakers, loudness, high filter, mono and stereo, tape monitor, phono input and a microphone input with its own level. Wooden case and aluminium front, the classic look of Japanese hi-fi from that decade. Powers up and works: the dial lights up and it plays radio or a turntable through whatever speakers are connected. Furnishes a living room, a student's bedroom or a record shop between 1975 and 1985.
